Jaggery

Palm Jaggery:

               Palm Jaggery is also known as karupatti or pana vellam in Tamil. It’s one of the best healthy alternative to white sugar. Palm jaggery is one of the key medical ingredient in our ancient Ayurveda. It is highly nutritious and has got lots of minerals. It is rich in iron and can be used to cure anemia. It activates the digestive system and helps in producing the digestive enzymes and prevents constipation. Regular consumption of palm jaggery detoxes our body and cleans the digestives system. Drinking hot tea or hot water mixed with palm jaggery helps relieve seasonal cough and cold.  Palm jaggery naturally helps to manage the menstrual cramps and its rich in lots of nutrients and it helps to produce happy hormone, which is serotonin.

Palm jaggery can be mixed milk / tea and consumed. Also palm jaggery can be taken as is as a sweet to replace sugar candies.
